Application
Fragrance for Lotions, Creams & Skin Care.
Leave-on skin care is where fragrance limits bite hardest. The product stays on a large area of skin all day, so the IFRA category limit — not performance — is usually what decides the dose.

What the base demands
- The limit binds first
- For leave-on products the IFRA category maximum is usually lower than the dose you would choose for scent alone. Start from the certificate.
- Allergen labelling
- Leave-on cosmetics must declare regulated fragrance allergens above set thresholds in many markets. Ask for the allergen declaration with your sample.
- Emulsion stability
- Fragrance can thin or destabilise an emulsion and discolour it over time. Test the finished cream through its shelf life.
Starting doses
| Format | Working load | What limits it |
|---|---|---|
| Lotions & creams | 0.2–0.8% | Leave-on: the IFRA category limit is usually the binding constraint. |
Every range here is a commercial starting point, not a limit. The IFRA conformity certificate for the specific compound and product category — and the law where you sell — always override it. How to work out your dose →
Families that work
Clean, skin-like or powdery musks as the signature, with soft florals, amber or woods. A bouquet or a single flower at the centre — rose, iris, violet, peony, lily of the valley — on musk and woods.

Questions
- How much fragrance goes into a body lotion?
- Typically 0.2–0.8%, but for leave-on products the IFRA category limit is usually the real ceiling.
- Do I need an allergen declaration?
- For cosmetics sold in many markets, regulated fragrance allergens above set thresholds must be labelled. We issue an allergen declaration per lot.
- Do you have allergen-reduced fragrances?
- Yes — our personal-care range includes allergen-reduced options. Ask for the declaration before you buy.
